Colonel Elmer Ellsworth was the first Union officer to die in the American Civil War. No new biography of his life has been published since 1960--so I am writing one.

40th Anniversary of the Watergate Break-in
I have been waiting for this---
Forty years ago tonight, Nixon's burglars hit the Watergate Hotel. The rest, as they say, is history . . .!
Apparently the Comments section was not functioning properly, as I didn't see this until just a while ago. Watergate was, for me, the final kick-in-the-teeth begun by the assassination of JFK. I went underground, mostly. I don't think I have recovered yet, but I finally believe in things enough to do history.
